Some pugs are a little picky about their food, while the majority of them have an immense appetite. They love eating everything from veggies like baby carrots, boiled potatoes, and green beans to meat, fish, and even eggs. An ideal homemade diet should comprise 50% meat, fish, and poultry, 30% complex carbohydrates like potatoes, sweet potatoes, brown rice, and 20% fruits and vegetables like apple, pears, carrot, and green beans.
As per the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), treats should include just 5% of your dog’s diet. Pureed fruit cubes in their frozen form, homemade or readymade dog biscuits, and morsels of cooked meat sans seasonings or salt are some of the treats you could give him.
You could either make them a healthy meal at home or opt for store-manufactured ones containing all the essential nutrients they require. When buying a dog food, opt for brands having natural preservatives and flavorings, gluten-free grains, and healthy supplements like probiotics, antioxidants, Omega-3 essential fatty acids, and glucosamine.
